Our Doctors

Dr. J.P. Hughes

Dr. J.P. Hughes began his dental career at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1972 and graduated with honors in 1976. During his four years at USC he received special recognition from the Southern California Academy of General Dentistry and was a recipient of the Arthur C. La Touche Award for outstanding operative dentistry. He was also selected by his peers to receive the Robert E. Cruse Award for integrity and the highest of moral and ethical standards. As a student in the top ten percent of his graduating class, Dr. Hughes was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. He was also included in Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities 1975-76.

After graduating from dental school in 1976, and prior to moving to Santa Barbara in 1977, Dr. Hughes continued to teach part-time at the USC School of Dentistry and practiced denstistry in Beverly Hills, California. He has served as Peer Review Chairman for the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society for five years. Dr. Hughes and Dr. Jerry Woolf were students together at the University of Southern California and offer a combined experience of 63 years in the practice of Dentistry.
